Good MORNing INterWEBS

If you know me at all I'm sure you can personally attest to the fact you’ve seen or in some way experienced how rapid fire and disjointed my attention span can be. If you don’t know me, that was your warning. This post however long it may will have a handful of tangents, I’m sure, seeing as I have no plan for what I’m about to say.  Bad grammar, misuse of commas, and probably some misspelling will be found in the post below. I’m also writing this as if I’m saying it out loud, so beware.

I can’t tell you how many blogs I’ve started over the past years. My aforementioned attention span doesn’t let me stay in one mode for very long so I eventually lose interest in that particular blog and start a brand new one. Heck, that’s how my online magazine, website thing, got started. www.fireicemagazine.com (shameless plug I know.) The reason I keep doing these blogs is simply because I like writing, so sue me.

I actually started writing for this blog last night, but the post I wrote was defiantly not one you start a blog with. I’ll probably rewrite it and then give up and start all over again later tonight.  I do that a lot when it comes to what I’m writing.  Ask my friends, I’ve probably subjected them to twenty different version of the book I’m writing.

Wait, I’m going to pause right here for one second. I have got to say THANK YOU. Those friends I just mentioned are awesome awesome people.  I subject them to constant emails, texts, and facebook messages about my book and they have all read my stuff and responded with amazing patience and kindness.  SO, here is my shout out to those people. Thank you guys and gals, I really do appreciate it. You have no idea how helpful it is when you read and give me feedback. It helps me grow as a writer.  I am a total amateur but I have improved thanks to you. (You should totally give feedback on this too. Wink wink)

Now…back to my ramblings. Well, I guess I never really stopped rambling… Whatever, I want to explain why I decided to start this specific blog.  Yesterday, I rediscovered how funny Felicia Day is. I was bored and trying to distract myself on Pinterest, my latest obsession, when I searched pins for Charlie Bradbury, Felicia Day’s character on the CW’s chow Supernatural.  I was having so much fun reading the quotes and seeing the pictures of the four episodes she’s been in that I made a board about Charlie. Well, that led to me searching Felicia herself. Thus, I found her video about learning Parkour. The Flog, her Geek and Sundry show, is hilarious.  So hilarious I grabbed my headphones and started marathoning, sort of. I was sitting on my poppop’s couch after dinner, looking like a weirdo with my pinkish orange hat on and my extra large cell phone like three inches from my face. (Galaxy Mega, 6.3 inch display. It’s a micro computer/television). I probably watch like eleven videos or about that.

I lost count of how many times my mom gave me the “Have you gone batty?” look when I started nearly hyperventilating in laughter. I love Felicia Day, she is beyond awesome. She’s braver than I am. I probably would have totally failed at Parkour. Heck, there is no probably there. I would have failed.  My laugh, by the way, according to my mother and everyone she’s told this joke to sounds like Muttley. If you don’t know who that is…I didn’t when she first said it….Google him. Muttley or however you spell it is a cartoon dog.  Wears an old style pilots hat thing, you know the leather hat with the flaps at the side of your face and the big goggles to go with it.  Watch the youtube videos of his laugh and just imagine a girl laughing like that. It’s both kind of cool, and seriously annoying at the same time how much I do sound like the dog. Every time someone comments on the sound, I only laugh harder and it gets worse and worse.  BACK to the reason I decided to write this…

See I told you I’d go on tangents…

I’ve probably said it a hundred times now that my mother and I need our own sitcom, we really have a lot of fun when you get us going. So, when my poppop commented on how we are like a comedy duo last night I started thinking. I crack myself up so why not write a blog and crack other people up? (I feel stupid admitting this was how my brain was operating last night, but whatever.) I’ll save the story of how his comment came about for that other post I was writing last night.  Point was, I got home and was seriously hyper, why I couldn’t tell you, it just happens sometimes. Sitting down, Mom and I started watching Supernatural again. It was my choice, mom isn’t a huge fan of it like I am but she puts up with it for me. Love her.

While I watch TV, I tend to multi task and work on my book, but I wanted desperately to record the hilarity of what happened at Poppop’s house so I started writing a blog post on a fresh word document. My internet kind of sucks at home, so I figured I’d post it later when I found the wifi bars. It was probably a two page long post that I realize I’ve probably rendered redundant by what I’ve written already in this one.

I wrote it like this one too, like I was having a full blown conversation with someone. It may sound a little crazy but I can’t put it any other way. Having a conversation go on in your head without sharing it with someone else isn’t really all that fun. Doing it out loud with an actual person is preferable, but as a blog, it works too.  So began Ramblez Much?

By the end of the night, however, I figured I wouldn’t be posting. My attention span is really that short. This is the moment your probably asking yourself, why then is there a post for you to be reading now then?  It was my drive to wawa this morning that changed my mind.

I seriously hate snow! The country has bombarded with snow this past month, particularly my area on the east coast over the last few weeks. Yes, I’m sure there are places in other states that have it worse, but that is not important for the moment. I hate snow. I’m tired of it. For the first time in my life I miss summer. (Pause for gasps).  You see, my car is a sports car. It’s low to the ground and apparently likes to slide in the least bit of sleet or white powder.  You’d probably think that after having this car for as long as I have I’d know how to drive it properly when winter come, but I don’t really. I’m a chicken when it comes to bad weather. If I can manage it, I refuse to drive in the rain.  That being said I also prefer to drive fast. What’s the point of driving a sports car slow?

Anyway… While I was driving to Wawa, (you’re missing out if you don’t know what Wawa is). In my head I started making commentary on how annoying the snow was, and I thought…I can’t be the only one who drives like a baby and complains about the snow. I know for a fact I’m not.  One thought led to another and here I am writing this post.

Have you ever realized that when there is snow on the ground your car seems to cop an attitude with you? Especially when you are crossing a busy road, your car never moves like you want it too. You press the gas fast, the wheels spin for a moment and then you take off much slower than you wanted. Or, you push the gas slow and crawl forward like a snail.  (Please leave a comment if you’ve experienced this, my car is notorious for being mean to me. I would love to know if this happens to other people. )

The reason I find this phenomena particular annoying because it always seems to be that moment of awkward slow motion that I see someone hurtling down the road towards me at reckless speeds. In reality I’m sure they are probably going much slower than they appear to be, but like I said I’m a chicken.

At Wawa I was searching for what to bring to work for lunch and walked past the Tastykake section and had a total geek moment. You see, Supernatural, the show I’ve mentioned a couple times now is one of my absolute favorites. I’ve followed it since the very beginning. Hence the Large number of pins I’ve made on the subject. (I’m Chelsea Lynn on Pinterst or @fangirltastic FOLLOW ME!)  To prove how much of super fan I am, I’ll add a picture of my necklace under here when I post this. I have Dean’s necklace. Well, I have the amulet charm; I got rid of the chain it came on because it was too small.

I’m a huge fan of Dean, sorry Sam. I could go all existential on you and explain why but I won’t. You know, actually that’s not the right word. Existential means something that I can’t remember right now but I know it was the wrong word…I could go all psychological on you…There we go.  Next holiday where it is acceptable to get presents I’ve already requested that someone get me his ring too.  Anyway…if you know one thing about Dean Winchester it is that he loves PIE.  It’s a running gag on the show that he asks Sam to get him some pie and Sam notoriously forgets it. Charlie Bradbury (Felicia Day) actually comments on it in Pac Man Fever, one of my favorite episodes ever. One time he actually gets him cake instead. Dean is not pleased but eats the cake anyway, I’m pretty sure Dean will eat it if it’s edible food.

Back to the aisle at Wawa, I saw the Tastykake pies, and here is where my geek moment happened. The words “Bring some PIE” literally came out of mouth like they had a life of their own. Thank God no one was around. I would have looked like a total nutbar.  I’m sure your probably thinking that I crazy by now anyway, so that’s why I shared this lovely moment. I’m oddly proud that I’ve typed this whole story and in fact most of this post while I was eating the apple pie I bought. See picture below, I have proof of my geek status.  (Sidebar: I love how I tried to turn geek into a word with “ness” at the end and the spell check options supplied gooeyness.)

Alright, I’m totally finishing the Co-opptitude video I started watching this morning, where Felicia Day and her brother Ryon play Gauntlet IV , Vapor something (I forget the full name), and Paper Boy.
Hope you were entertained by how crazy my thought process is. I just downloaded the blogger app on my phone, so hopefully I will continue this blog longer than the past ones I’ve done.  I had fun writing for you guys….

Now it’s time for shameless plugging. Dunt Dunt Dun…you read that with the sound affect in your head didn’t you….I did.
