It’s time for the second post of the day! I know you are all
just jumping up and down with excitement.
Let me start this post by saying it will be rare that I post
twice in one day. That would be awesome if I could do a morning post and
evening post all the time, but it seems my hyperactivity is the only way that
will happen.
As it stands this post was actually inspired by my work day
today. For an awesome change of pace I’m
actually working the morning shifts this week, so I get some quite time to
think and actually get to eat dinner with my family. Score one for the home
team.
Yes, I did actually say that. I am not only a geek I a geek
with antiquated terminology.
Anyways, I work at a tennis center. It’s pretty cool. Nice
people. I’ve been here for nearly six years now. God, does that make me feel old. At this
tennis center there are three cats. Yes CATS. They live here. So if your allergic
stay away. Far away. Their names are Arthur after Arthur Ashe, Mackey after
James McEnroe, and Wilson after the tennis brand. They are totally adorable…except when they
have hairballs, that is so not cute…but I love them.
Don’t tell Macky or Arthur but Wilson is my favorite. He’s
so cute. He sits up on the desk with me, like he’s working too. Little jerk has
beaten me out for employee of the month since August.
I wanted to tell you guys and gals about these cats simply
because they are a riot. The three of
them will sit on the courts if it’s warm and stand right in your way as you’re
trying to play tennis. I’ve watched people try to scare them away politely with
balls but they stare at them like they are a gnat they can squash. I’ve only seen the react to a ball when it
hits them directly.
They fear nothing, except me, I’m the one who puts them in
at night, and let me tell you…if I don’t catch them at the exact right moment
it will be next to impossible to get them into their room. Which is ridiculous,
I mean come on, it’s winter and they refuse to go into the WARMEST ROOM in the
whole building.
Sitting at work I got the chance not only to see Wilson on
the desk with me but Arthur in the ball cart. How he’s comfortable on a bunch
of tennis balls I couldn’t tell you. It’s strange.
Oh, I have to tell you how ridiculous I felt today. Earlier I
mentioned my trip to Wawa right; well I bought myself lunch while I was there.
I don’t know why I didn’t put this in the last post, I guess cause I literally
forgot about the food.
It was a Lunchable. I felt like such a little kid. It was one of thos epic ones where you build your own pizza too.
Once upon a time didn't they include a spreader for the sause? This may just be a me thing but it so hard to get that sause out even and smooth. Maybe im just a crazy mini pizza perfectionist.
Oh my god. In the post earlier I totally called something micro right? I did that becuase I blanked on how to spell Mini. Its kind pitiful how happy remembering the spelling ofr mini just made me.
Anyway. Im including a picture of the total hipster Platapus that was on the back of the Lunchable box. You tell me if that qualifies as Hipster.
Ive never quite understood the definition of hipster, but it seemed to fit the term to me. I laughed the second I saw it.
Ok so I'm currently writing this post in my car on my phone. My mailman just past for the second time. Im pretty sure he now thinks im crazy. This is not the first time hes caught me just chilling out in my car. Last time I was on the phone too but talking to someone, but judging by his face this time he has officially put me int the crazy colum.
....
I was downloading a game onto my phone today while I was eating. Can I just say it's severely disappointing when a game takes like four load screen at 20 mins a piece. I was practically banging my head o the desk while I waited. The game of course after all that was all slightly disappointing too.
Speaking of games by the way. Have you played Flappy Bird yet? I started playing like a week ago. It looked so simple, a total visual throwback to orginal mario games. BUT OH MY GOD I WAS WRONG. It is disceptive. I literally jumped for joy when I reached my current high score od 15 points. YES, I am that bad. I even wrote an article that will be posted on www.fireicemagazine.com about how I love to hate Flappy Bird. (Another shamless plug).
When im not playing stupidly fun games on my phone I actually do read books by the way. I was an English major in College.
I burn through books on average one book every two or three weeks. My current choice is Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin. I highly recommend. Its such a beautiful story. The movie of it comes out on valentine's day. Im very anxious to see how it will translate. The book is a love affair with language and descriptions so I am curious to see what they pulled out to make the movie. the trailers for it are so good.
Woah, news flash. It was just said over my voice car radio that you can no longer get Flappy Bird. I must investigate why! I have rhe app on my phone already so its stuck there for now but if you haven't gotten it, the word is you wont be able to. If you know why please comment.
Alrighty then, my toes are cold and I have to prepare. Im going to the gym tonight. Yikes.
have a good day.
See You Later,
Chelsea
